THEY JUST KEEP ON COMIN’ … MORE TRIKES, THAT IS

am happy to be able to say that I keep seeing more tadpole trikes out there as I go out riding. This Spring alone I have seen at least a dozen trikes I have never seen before. Just today I saw 5 new ones one of which was a tandem. And now that we have a Catrike dealer in town I am definitely seeing a bunch more Catrikes out there … far more Catrikes than any other brand … which pleases me greatly as I think there is no better made trike out there. I am trying to meet them and get acquainted, but I tell ya what it is starting to get confusing and overwhelming trying to keep the whole picture straight. I need a photo album of the trikes, riders and their names. This is a good thing. Even though it is taxing my feeble brain I am so glad to see the numbers growing like they are. I am terrible with names anyway so this is difficult and always embarrassing for me when I can’t/don’t remember their names. I always joke about my problem remembering names. I say that the name goes in one ear and out of the other ear like there is nothing in there to stop it.

But hey, the important thing is that it is happening. The total number of tadpole trikes I know of in my area is now up to at least 24. When I first started riding a tadpole trike back in 2007 I think there were about 5 trikes around. It has been a slow but steady growth, however, the last couple of years it has sped up considerably.

If any of those in my area are reading this I apologize to you if I don’t remember your name and have to ask … and ask … and … well, you get the picture. Regardless of whether or not I remember your name I just want you to know I welcome you to the world of tadpole triking. May we all …

KEEP ON TRIKIN’

  1. David Dickmeyer

Steve, My name is Dave Dickmeyer. I’ve been riding tadpoles nearly as long as you have. My late wife and I used to see you riding down State street. I’m sure we chatted back then. It would have been before 2012. We rode Blue Terra trikes. But many things have changed. Now you will hopefully meet me on the Greenway this year with my Greenspeed GT20. And my lady has a TerraTrike Traveler. But that’s not all. We have more to talk about. Hope to see you out “enjoying the ride!” Dave

  2. Flag me down if you see me. I always enjoy meeting up and chatting with fellow tadpole riders.
